"First let's start off with the News on Alanis'
and Tricky's collaboration. Tricky has been recording tracks for his new
album, Blowback, and Alanis decided to pay him a little visit. She went in the
studio, supposedly introduced herself and wanted to hear Tracky's track. After
she told him to go in the next room and she recording three different vocals.
Read it in Tricky's words: "So I have the tracks ready and my bits done. I
never seriously thought she was coming. Then one day she walks in the studio
with a pen and paper and I thought it was amazing - I've more trouble with
people who sell 10,000 records. She just came in, introduced herself to
everyone and she says, 'Can I hear the track?'. I played her the track, she
said 'Let's go in the other room', and she did three vocals in about an
hour-and-a-half. But they only let me use one of them." Tricky added: "We've
talked about working together, about doing an album. When we did the track, we
were hanging out and she was really into it. So she's just like, 'We should go
to India and do an album'. NME was the one to break this news. So this could
be interesting, Alanis could be recording an album with Tricky! I would love
to hear that! Also, Alanis does vocals on the song called Excess on the album.
All of them! If you hear the song, that's already floating around the
Internet, well let's just say fans here are in disbelief that it's Alanis
doing the vocals! But it is being reported as: "featuring a surprisingly funky
Morissette doing backing vocals" She also did vocals for a song called Diss
Never, but because she was in "heated arguments" with Maverick Aka Madonna,
they weren't allowed on the album because of MAVERICK! Thank U Maverick,
Muchly! Tricky re-recorded the song and titled it Diss Never [Dig Up We
